When the engine is mounted using a motor plate and mid plate, the plates determine the location of the engine in the chassis. Under load, the plates may not keep the engine from moving rearward. A limiter keeps the engine from moving rearward and prevents automatic-transmission-case breakage. It attaches to the frame near the motor plate, and to the engine on the stock motor-mount boss.
