Rear End Narrowing
Universal Narrowing Jig - Includes a selection of CNC-machined adapters that bolt in place of the factory carrier bearings to assure proper alignment of the jig shaft and threaded housing-end adapters. Carrier-bearing adapters are included for Ford 9” and 8.8", Dana 60, Chevy 12-bolt, Mopar 8-3/4” and early Olds rearends. Housing-end adapters are included for Mopar, early Olds, big-Ford, Mustang (8" and 9"), Camaro and Impala rearends, with a special tapered adapter also included to align the axle tube. The adapters bolt onto the housing ends for easier rotational alignment, and then thread over the jig shaft to form an extremely stable fixture.
Floater Housing-Spindle Adapter - Available separately to install a Strange 40-spline floater spindle.
Pinion Center-Line Gauge - An important tool used when narrowing rearends. Makes measuring a housing much easier by accurately locating the pinion center line of any popular rearend.

This adapter plate bolts to the housing in place of the Ford 9" third member and clamps the alignment shaft tightly in place. It includes a pinion gauge for accurately measuring tube lengths for cutting the housing before welding on new ends. Use with our rearend-narrowing jig (part no. 6708) to make narrowing a Ford 9" rear end easy. |

This complete narrowing jig fits a Ford 9" and Chassisworks FAB9 housing. The faceplate bolts on and provides the pinion center gauge as well as a set of clamps to hold the center shaft. The 1-11/16" ground shaft has a threaded end to accept the housing end adapter. This housing end adapter fits small Ford, Early Big Ford and Late Big Ford. |

This is the same tool that we use to narrow a rear end. It makes measuring axle tube lengths easier. It bolts to the rear end and provides a slot to hold the end of the measuring tape. It comes predrilled with holes that match the rear end and locate the center line slot correctly. This tool fits Ford 9", Dana 60, Chevy 12 bolt, Mopar 8-3/4" and Early Olds rear end housings. |
